7.2 Self-evaluation Staff are involved in reflective and systematic self-evaluation using the HGIOS Quality Indicators to identify development needs which have the ultimate purpose of improving the quality of pupils’ experiences and standards of attainment.  Questionnaires are used to gather the views of parents, pupils about the quality of service provided by the school.

7.3 Planning for improvement The School Development Plan is well organised and provides a clear and easy to read summary of aims, audit and action. It accurately summarises key strengths, areas for development and progress made in achieving previous development priorities.

7.4 Leadership The Head Teacher demonstrates a good level of professional competence and commitment based on up-to-date knowledge and skills, including the ability to direct, communicate and manage staff and their development effectively.

The Head Teacher has been seconded by HMIE onto a national NOF Quality Assurance group, is a nominated member of the LTS Masterclass ICT initiative, and is a tutor for the local authority NOF ICT training initiative.  He is also a member of the CNES McCrone DSM Working Group, and a member of the Storlann Gaelic multimedia resources group.
