1  Introduction
'The inspection took place in March and April 1999 as part of a national sample of primary and secondary education.  It evaluated how well pupils were performing, the effectiveness of the school and how well the school was managed.'

2  How well are pupils performing?
'The overall quality of attainment in the primary and secondary departments was good.'

3  How effective is the school?
'The school was well led and had a very good reputation in the community.'
'The school had a very good ethos.'
'There was very good inclusion of aspects of ICT throughout the curriculum.'

4  How well is the school managed?
'The recently appointed Head Teacher had made a very good start to providing good leadership....  He had very good relationships with staff and consulted with them openly in decision-making.'
