Resources

To optimise our provision of resources, ensuring that we develop the best possible accommodation and facilities, and that these are made widely available to the school and the wider community as appropriate.  We will also ensure that school staff have opportunities to develop their careers through Continuing Professional Development and Quality Assurance programmes.

Key Strengths

No Quality Indicator Themes 4 3 2 1
6.1 Accommodation and facilities The school's very well maintained accommodation and facilities provide a safe, pleasant and stimulating environment, suited to supporting the curricular activities of pupils, the work of staff, and social and leisure activities.

6.2 Provision of resources A very good stock of up-to-date resources, including books, practical materials, audio-visual resources, photocopying and information and communications technology equipment is available. Resources match the educational context, are generally in good condition, and provide suitable support for the work of the school or team.

6.3 Organisation and use of resources and space Very good use is made of school resources, the local environment, and resources from outwith the school, to provide high quality learning and teaching. Pupils are encouraged to make regular use of resources, including ICT, where appropriate.  Well-presented and regularly changed displays of pupils’ work, and other items, support learning and teaching, providing a stimulating environment.

6.4 Staffing Members of staff are well qualified and, overall, have a good and expanding range of qualifications, skills and training relevant to their responsibilities and the school.

6.6 Staff review and development Staff development is well planned and matched to the identified needs of individuals and the school. The continuing professional development in-service programme makes good use of staff, local and national expertise as appropriate.

6.7 School management of finances Staff and, where necessary, the School Board, are aware of funding arrangements and are consulted appropriately, fairly and openly.  Arrangements for operating the budget take full account of local and national guidelines.
