Special Instances of Achievement and Attainment

The following represent special instances of achievement and attainment gained recently:

North of Scotland Swimming Championships, Inverness
Angela Maciver won a Silver Medal, which was an outstanding personal achievement

Proshare Student Investor Competition 2002
Dot Com Divas (
Lee Macaulay, Marina Macfarlane, Claire Macdonald and Anna Murray) reached the regional UK Quarter Finals in this UK investment competition.  They also reached the Quarter Finals in 2001, and another Lionel School team reached the UK Semi-finals in Glasgow in 2000.

Western Isles Schools' Newspaper Competition
Lionel School won first prize in this competition to produce a school newspaper.

The Gaelic Society of London
First prize winners in their individual competitions were Alasdair Macdonald and Murdo Macleod

Badminton Inter School Championships
Lionel School won the badminton championship again, for the third year in succession

Sporsnis Committee
£1,000,000 in total was awarded to Sporsnis from CNES & Sport Scotland towards a new Sports Centre.
Lionel School held a sponsored Walk in aid of Sporsnis, which raised £3,000.

Peggy Morrison won first prize in 13-15 Learners Recitation
